A Lone Kayaker on Lake Okanagan by Chris Gardiner Photography |
Thanks for checking out today's picture of the day. This one comes to you from just a week or so ago when it hardly looked like winter around here, because you can't feel the temperature outside through a photo.
I happened to be near the beach shooting an assignment when I saw the lone kayaker out on the water. With the lake as still as it was, and the lighting we had, it was too good to pass up - so I ran over and snapped the photo above and a few more you'll see below.
We seldom see Lake Okanagan 'glass' over like this in the summer - only at sunrise, and only if there is no wind, and no early morning boaters. In winter months on the other hand, there may not be a boat on the water for days, greatly increasing your chance of seeing the lake like this.
